Intervista di Rob con il Washington Post
With the “Twilight” saga coming to an end next week following the release of “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” Pattinson, 26, can now fully focus on defining himself as an actor who appears in movies that don’t feature the Volturi. How does he feel as he makes that transition? What does he have to say about accusations that his relationship with Kristen Stewart has been a marketing tool used to sell a semi-steamy vampire romance? And is he really so up for a part in the “Star Wars” franchise that he would willingly play a live-action version of Jar Jar Binks?
During a recent phone interview, I did my best to get the answers to some of these questions. Here’s a transcript of our conversation.

Berlin (DAPD). Actor Robert Pattinson has previously kept away because of self-doubt ambitious roles. "I have now signed up for many projects that last year I would have thought that I wasn't good enough for them as an actor," said the "Twilight" actor to DAPD news in Berlin. The turning point was the drama "Cosmopolis," that recently was in competition at the Cannes Festival.
"As an actor, if you are invited to Cannes, you see yourself in a different light," said the 26-year-old Briton. His response: "Maybe I can make really cool movies."
After nude scenes in the period drama "Bel Ami", Pattinson had in "Cosmopolis" for director David Cronenberg drop the cases. "I'm always very inhibited, because I'm English," confessed the actor. "Everyone else always feels so comfortable in their own skin on sex scenes. I'm the one that falls into a panic." Trust it to the director, it would be easier. "If you shoot a movie you don't really like, you feel yourself just a little like a prostitute."
In the film adaptation of Don DeLillo's novel "Cosmopolis," Pattinson plays a financial shark who is personally and professionally before the crash. The film will be on Thursday (5 July).

The vampire, that’s all past now. Around Christmas though, the last long-completed “Twilight” movie will hit the cinema, however, the British Robert Pattinson, 26, doesn’t play a bloodsucker anymore. In “Cosmopolis” he’s a barracuda who lets himself chauffeur in a stretched limo around Manhattan. The movie, based on the novel by Don DeLillo, is directed by the master director David Cronenberg. Therewith Pattinson has definitely arrived in the cinema of the big ones. Or not? He shows up for the interview on deck of a luxury hotel in Cannes with a pink lollipop.
Does it taste good, Mr Pattinson?
